Hello brothers & sisters,

"who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good."
Titus 2:14 NIV

In the scripture above, Paul writes to Titus to encourage him to mentor other believers and share how Christians should live. He also teaches Titus to stand fast on the Word and encourages him not to back down, even when challenged or tested. While this passage is so encouraging to us, the extended passage from 2:11-2:15 gives us even more guidance.

11 “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. 15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.” Titus 2:11-15 NIV

It is important to consider the first four words in this scripture above. “For the grace of God.” It is the grace of God that teaches us how to live “upright and godly lives.” It is so important for us to remember that we cannot learn these things without first personally experiencing God’s grace by spending time with Him.

Brothers and sisters, as you continue your "Journey with Jesus" today, how do you continue to follow Jesus' example and prioritize "Getting Out" with God so you can remain "eager to do what is good?” What can you let go of today to make time for God? Where is your “wilderness”?
